FAQs
We are currently a virtual only practice for nutrition counseling sessions, however, we do offer in-person grocery store tours for local residents. There are many advantages to virtual nutrition counseling, including:
- Accessibility: Virtual counseling eliminates any geographical barriers, allowing clients to receive services from anywhere with an internet connection. It is also particularly beneficial to those with mobility issues or during inclement weather.
- Convenience: Virtual counseling is great for those with busy schedules and want to avoid time in the car which often requires sitting in traffic. You can receive nutritional guidance in the comfort of your own home, on a break at work or school, or wherever you may be for the day.
- Privacy and Comfort: Our virtual practice utilizes HIPAA-compliant software that is user-friendly and secure. Some clients may feel more comfortable discussing sensitive topics about their health or relationship with food in the comfort of their own space.
At this time, we do not accept insurance. However, we can provide a superbill that can be submitted to your insurance for possible reimbursement

- In the 60 Minute Introductory session, we will take a comprehensive look at your health history and current lifestyle. We will then work together to formulate an action plan on how to work towards your nutrition and overall health goals.
- Follow-up sessions may include a review of your food or GI journal, lab ordering or interpretation, supplement support (if appropriate), meal planning, activity goals, and discussion on how to optimize sleep and stress resilience. We will also troubleshoot any challenges you may have faced since the previous session and update goals.
- Between sessions we offer concierge messaging to ensure you feel supported throughout the process of working together
- A Registered Dietitian (RD) is a regulated healthcare professional with specific educational and credentialing requirements. In the United States, RDs must complete a graduate degree in nutrition or a related field, followed by an extensive supervised internship program. In addition, they must pass a national examination to become registered.
- RDs are trained to assess individual nutritional needs, develop personalized meals plans, provide medical nutrition therapy for various health conditions, and offer evidenced-based nutrition counseling.
- A nutritionist typically refers to someone who has studied nutrition, however, unlike RDs, the term ‘nutritionist’ is not legally protected, meaning that anyone can call themselves a nutritionist without undergoing specific training or obtaining credentials.
